Test prints are byproducts of the printmaking process that are created as a result of backend tasks such as creating and testing color palettes, checking registration between colors, clearing flooded screens, and a meriad of other reasons. These pieces of scrap paper eventually take on a life of their own and become unique monoprints unlike any other.
 
This test print is special in that it is printed on kraft paper - the type that is typically used to protect prints as they are being shipped - and is 24" x 36".
 
Because these are "test prints", they are treated as such in the studio. It is not uncommon for them to have bent corners, markings on the back and front, and dinged edges.
